Reusable Moving Boxes

Reusable moving boxes are, essentially, plastic boxes. They’re reusable, because they don’t get ruined by water or humidity, and they don’t get worn out, unlike cardboard boxes.

Resuable boxes are great for storing things, because they’ll protect them from leaks and mildew. Additionally, they’re great for renting. There are many agencies out there that specialize in renting out rental moving boxes. Rental moving boxes ar all reusable boxes. They are usually rented out by the week.

Waterproof Storage Boxes

One of the biggest risks of storage is leaking water. It can ruin pounds of stuff and create a mildewey mess to clean up. Unfortunately, it happens a lot. It doesn’t help that most people store stuff in places prone to leaks, including basements and attics.

However, there’s a way to protect your things from leaks. Waterproof storage boxes are made of durable plastic, rather than cardboard, and have sealed seams. This guarantees that water won’t get in.

Waterproof storage boxes are more expensive than your average cardboard box. They come in many sizes and shapes. You can find them anywhere, including on Amazon.com and at hardware stores. Also, ask your moving company if they have waterproof boxes.

Pros and Cons of Moving to Colorado Springs

Colorado Springs is located about an hour south of Denver. It’s an outdoorsman’s dream, a place with plenty of bike paths, hiking trails, parks and scenic views, including of the iconic Pike’s Peak. In fact, Colorado Springs is right at the feet of the Rocky Mountains, giving it one of the best backdrops in the world.

Colorado Springs doesn’t have the museum or arts scene of nearby Denver. It’s more of a sprawling city, with many residential neighborhoods and strips malls, and without a large, centralized downtown. Pros and Cons of Anaheim, CA

Anaheim, California, is a place of palm trees, sunshine and Disney Land. Located in Orange County, Southern California, between L.A. and San Diego, Anaheim is largely a suburban place, but it has some iconic attractions, notably Disney Land.

Anaheim is known for being very wealthy, as are the nearby cities of Irvine and Santa Ana. Many residents have good jobs in one of the nearby metros. Anaheim has countless nice neighborhoods with nice homes with nice yards with nice flowers and well-trimmed bushes. It’s a very safe, pretty place to live, and this is a good thing.

However, Anaheim lacks the big-city vibes of San Diego and LA. It doesn’t have a large downtown that anchors the population, and, though the beach isn’t far away, residents need to drive through miles of highway traffic to get there.

Pros and Cons of Eugene, OR

Eugene, Oregon, is known as the hometown of the University of Oregon. It’s also the home of Nike, and Phil Knight adorns the university (and, in that respect, the city) with new buildings and gyms.

Eugene is also located in densely forested land, which is great for hiking, near the coast, which is great for boating, and not far from Portland, which is great for drinking. Oh, and it has an iconic Shakespeare festival.

However, Eugene is also known for winters that do not stop raining, and aside from the college, it’s really a pretty small town without the downtown and economic hallmarks of a big city, like Portland and Seattle.

Pros and Cons of Baton Rouge, LA

Many of the pros and cons of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, are found around Louisiana State University, known as LSU. The LSU Tigers sports teams, especially football, are followed with a fervor as feverishly pitched as any sports team in the nation. Additionally, the young populace supports a healthy, evolving nightlife and dining scene.

LSU can’t counteract some of the city’s negatives, though, notably its sweltering, sweaty, mosquito-swarmed summer nights, and a lackluster downtown.

Fortunately, for those who like big-city downtowns, New Orleans is only an hour and a half away.

Pros and Cons of Santa Rosa, CA

Santa Rosa, CA, is a beautiful town just north of San Francisco. It is the county head of Sonoma County, so it has the area’s primary courthouses and government buildings. Additionally, it is located very close to wine country and serves as a business district for the area. However, perhaps its most notable characteristic is its beauty. It’s near the Russian River and other natural landmarks, and its downtown is clean and pretty.

Read on to learn the pros and cons of Santa Rosa, CA.

Positives of Santa Rosa

  • Beer, wine & food – Russian River Brewing Co. is recognized as one of the best breweries in the world, and Santa Rosa is home to a number of wineries, too. Plus, it has a great farmers’ market.
  • Economy – Santa Rosa is the government and commercial head of the northern Bay Area and wine country, giving it a strong economy. It also supports a healthy arts scene.
  • Pricing – Santa Rosa offers far cheaper housing than nearby San Francisco, Oakland and Berkeley.
  • Weather – Expect 60’s in the middle of the winter and 80’s in the summer. There will be some rain and fog, but generally the city gets fantastic weather that’s warmer than San Francisco, because it’s protected from the ocean.

Negatives of Santa Rosa

  • Driving is necessary – Santa Rosa is outside of the reach of the Bay Area’s public transportation, making driving necessary to get to the cities and to get to any other location, including wine country. Additionally, the city itself lacks a rapid public transit system.
  • Small – Santa Rosa is big compared to a small town, but it’s small compared to nearby San Francisco and Oakland. While for some this is a good thing, others might find it better to actually live in one of the cities rather than to commute to them.
  • Heat – Santa Rosa can top the 90’s in the summer, which is the only notch against its otherwise pristine weather.
