Thousands of people have to decide whether to move near their family, often their parents, in order to take care of them. But how does one decide to do it? Especially when they like where they live, or don’t like where their parents live?
Moving near family is almost always a nice thing to do. However, it’s not always the best decision for you. When it comes to deciding whether to you should move near your family, there are a few factors that you should take into consideration. Here are the factors for deciding whether living near your family is worth it:
- Family’s health – If your parents are healthy and happy, then there’s not a real need to move close to them. However, if, say, your sister is gravely ill, it makes a lot of sense to be there with her.
- Location – If you don’t like where your family lives, you should really think hard about whether you want to move there. It’s a tough call. However, to be sure, it’s a selfless but tragic act to move somewhere you don’t want to live for someone else’s benefit.
- Work – You’ll need to have work where you are. Make sure the new place can support you, so you can support your family.
- Day-to-day life – Consider how much time you’ll be spending with your family, and what you’ll do when you’re not. Is that the kind of life you’re ready to live?
